There is an interesting report titled, “Youth, Pornography and the Internet” which can be found at: http://www4.nationalacademies.org/onpi/webextra.nsf/web/porn?OpenDocument. The press release for the report stated: “An essential element of protecting children from inappropriate material on the Internet -- and one largely ignored in the present debate -- is the promotion of social and educational strategies that teach children to make wise choices about using the Internet and to take control of their online experiences: where they go, what they see, to whom they talk, and what they do ….. The most important step adults can take to help children steer clear of potentially harmful online content is to supervise and be involved in their use of the Internet”. While the report addresses concerns about youth access to pornography, the same general observations apply to online gambling.
